Galoche & Patin is a shoe repair and leather goods workshop based in Paris. We repair, restore and care for leather pieces — shoes, bags, jackets, climbing shoes — with the high standards of a workshop, and an organisation that makes this craftsmanship available everywhere in France.
It all started with shoe repair and a simple idea: make getting shoes repaired easy, without compromising on the quality of the work.
The workshop then opened up to leather goods, and later to leather jackets and climbing shoes, following the pieces our customers entrusted to us. Each new craft came with its own artisans, and with the same high standards as the first.
Getting a pair of shoes or a bag repaired shouldn’t take any planning. You make your request online with a few photos, and our artisans reply with a quote.
In Paris and the inner suburbs, our teams collect your pieces and bring them back to you; everywhere else in France, a carrier takes care of it. In between, it is our own workshop that does the work, not a subcontractor.
Our workshop on rue Beaubourg, in the 3rd arrondissement, is open to the public. You can drop off your pieces, collect them once repaired and ask our team for advice.
We do not put our customers in touch with independent cobblers. Whether you drop off your pieces on rue Beaubourg or we have them sent from anywhere in France, every pair and every bag is repaired by our team, in our workshop, then checked before it leaves.
That is what allows us to work on pieces from the great fashion houses with the same care as everyday shoes.
Shoe repair is a craft that is becoming rare, just as people want to make what they buy last again. We repair what deserves to be repaired: quality shoes and leather pieces, made to last, the opposite of throwaway fashion.
Our artisans work on them with traditional techniques as well as the latest ones, and we train our new artisans in the workshop. We are also approved by Refashion for the French repair bonus (Bonus Réparation): part of the price of your shoe repairs is covered.
