Rubber sole protector fitting for your shoes

Installing sole protectors on shoes involves adding a protective rubber sole beneath the shoe’s outer sole, typically made of leather. This process is often used to extend the lifespan of shoes by protecting them from wear caused by friction and moisture.

How rubber sole protectors are fitted to your shoes

Adding sole protectors is particularly recommended for city shoes or luxury shoes, as it protects the leather sole from premature wear while improving grip on slippery surfaces. In addition to their practical benefits, sole protectors can also be chosen in a variety of colours to match the shoe or for a discreet aesthetic effect.

The sole protector fitting process takes place in several steps:

Step 1: Preparing the sole

The shoe’s outsole is carefully cleaned and, if necessary, lightly sanded to ensure better adhesion of the sole protector.

Step 2: Cutting the sole protector

A piece of rubber, called a sole protector, is cut to measure to fit the shape of the sole perfectly.

Step 3: Applying the adhesive

A special adhesive is applied to the sole and to the sole protector. This adhesive is chosen for its strength and its ability to withstand wear conditions.

Step 4: Securing the sole protector

The sole protector is then firmly pressed against the sole, and the shoe is left to dry under constant pressure to ensure a strong, long-lasting bond.

Step 5: Finishing

Once the adhesive is dry, the edges of the sole protector are carefully trimmed and smoothed to ensure an attractive, comfortable finish.
