How to clean your UGGs
Cleaning your Uggs is easy with our tips!
These boots, made from sheepskin, are real allies against the cold. However, since sheepskin is relatively delicate, it’s hard to keep them in perfect condition when faced with bad weather like rain or snow.
Galoche & Patin offers several tips to care for your UGGs and keep them looking new for as long as possible.
Cleaning UGGs: preventing stains
To keep your UGGs looking like new and reduce stains, you need to apply a waterproofing spray to your shoes. This product will protect them day to day. Apply it evenly from about 20 cm away from your Uggs.
Once the product has been applied, wait 24 hours before wearing them so the waterproofing spray has time to dry properly.
Repeat this step several times a year to protect them as well as possible.
Tips for cleaning your UGGs
UGGs are made from a delicate material that doesn’t stand up well to bad weather. Rain or snow can really damage your shoes, causing water marks to appear.
For everyday care, we recommend using a crepe brush, always brushing in the same direction. The crepe brush will gently clean the suede.
The outside of your UGGs isn’t the only part you need to look after. Over time, the wool inside can deteriorate, and unpleasant odours caused by perspiration can appear.
Even if it’s the first idea that comes to mind, avoid the washing machine—it will damage the look of your boots.
You can clean the wool with a sponge lightly dampened with detergent, and wring it out well to avoid soaking the shoe too much.
And if you have stubborn bad odours, use a deodoriser instead.
Entrust the cleaning of your Uggs to a cobbler
If you have very stubborn water marks or loose stitching on your UGGs, don’t hesitate to call on a cobbler, who can care for them and repair them thanks to their expertise.
At Galoche & Patin, our team of experts can take care of your UGGs: care and cleaning, as well as restitching, so they look like new again!
